Rod/Piston Options:

Flag Motorsports offers complete machining, fully forged rotating assembly selection, and professional reassembly of your LT1 or LT4 engine. We work with your core engine block to recondition it and provide specification sheets for all work completed. Our service is available to clients nationwide with easy and afforable freight shipping options that are fully insured. Process:

-Customer supplied shortblock is fully machined including hot tank, Rottler H85A torque plate hone with .0001 tolerance for straightness and roundness, 4-axis CNC surfacing to under 25 RA for ideal MLS head gasket sealing with logo engraving, hydraulically install coated cam bearings, polish crankshaft, and final clean before assembly.

-Shortblock is rebuilt with Flag Motorsports’ forged rod and forged CP Carrillo piston package that is weight matched to the factory LT1 crankshaft so no balancing is required. ACL tri-coated main and rod bearings are supplied, with Mahle ring pack.

-Once all work is complete the engine is ready for pickup or can be shipped back via freight with insurance.

Disclaimers:

We can work with customer supplied rod/piston packages if you have already purchased these parts.

Please note that when your block is honed it will go a minimum of .005 over stock bore, so pistons must be for at least 4.070 bore. If your block has damaged cylinders and needs to be honed more than .005 over to clean up, we will advise before proceeding. If your block has significant damage and requires one or more sleeves we will advise before proceeding.

Customer supplied rod/piston packages may require balancing. A standard balance is $350 performed on a Fentech DCB2000 for extreme accuracy under one gram. If your bob weight measures higher than 1900 grams, we will advise that heavy metal (also known as tungsten/mallory) is needed and the balance will be more expensive depending on the quantity of heavy metal needed.

Flag Motorsports Piston/Rod Package:

For NA: CP Carrillo .6cc dome forged pistons with .200 wall tool steel wrist pins (11.9:1 compression ratio with 58cc heads)

For Boost: CP Carrillo 10.7cc dish forged pistons with .200 wall tool steel wrist pins (10.5:1 compression ratio with 58cc heads)

Summit Pro LS/LT connecting rods with ARP 2000 bolts (1200hp rated)

Ringpack:

Mahle 1.5mm/1.5mm/3.0mm

Bearings:

ACL tri-coated main and rod bearings, coated cam bearings
